Help your Reception child discover the different ways numbers can be made through hands-on play.
Domino Number Line is a simple sorting activity that encourages children to count the dots on each domino and place it beneath the matching number. As they compare dominoes that make the same total, they'll practise recognising numbers, counting sets and subitising small quantities, while beginning to understand that the same number can be made from different smaller parts.
Simple to set up and easy to adapt, you'll receive a parent-friendly guide with clear instructions, practical learning tips and ideas to extend the play as your child's confidence grows. Create a number line using sticky notes, paper or number cards, then use a set of dominoes to explore, count and compare the different ways each number can be made.
